July 26 - Cutting the hatches
|
I applied masking tape in the general area of the hatches and drew lines to cut as per the Pygmy instructions. I then started the saw cut with a series of five 1/16th holes drilled closely together and then used a fine tooth blade (I used a 40 tooth metal cutting blade) to cut the hatch openings.
I found that just taking it slow and concentrating helped keep the cut right on the line. In the end, I was quite pleased with how the hatch openings turned out.
