    I realize now that when I am on an extended trip I wear a "normal" PFD, also when I am at Surge Narrows, Baynes Channel etc. But on most of my regular day paddles where I do not expect rough conditions (based on wind and current forecasts) I wear my inflatable.

    I guess I have learned to do without the stuff. I keep the VHF in a case and hang it around my neck. I sometimes use a small deck bag.
