Geoff asked to pass on the following:

The 6th Annual Discovery Passage Passage is scheduled for Saturday August 25th.

Once again over 100 paddlers will glide across the Passage to the beautiful beach at Cape Mudge Village. A welcoming committee from Cape Mudge Village awaits. This adventure reenacts an important part of our history. This is a unique Campbell River Experience . Paddle the Passage: it’s part of living here!

The rules are simple: no motors or sails, no entry fee, no prizes. You must wear an approved life vest and follow Coast Guard safety regulations. The event is free but for safety reasons you need to register. To register go to http://www.incampbellriver.net/index.html and follow the registration link. You can also register by phone at 250 923 8482. Several safety boats including the Coast Guard will be on hand. If the weather is unsuitable the event will be postponed. Boaters are reminded they travel at their own risk.

The tide tells us we will be starting approximately 1:00 pm. We’ll send you a reminder during the first week of August. For now just mark the date on your calendar and plan to invite friends to this unique Campbell River experience.
