    I missed this when he broke his boat in two.

    He really made some big errors in judgment. Even Freya Hoffmeister had some difficulties negotiating this area. But, savvy woman that she is, she worked with the surf, tidal exchanges, and longshore currents to get past several major embayment/jetty barriers relatively unscathed.

    The long sandy beaches look more placid than a shoreline with numerous headlands and small beaches to an untutored eye.
