    Thanks Kyle
I used latex paint, then another coat of epoxy.

    Colour

I see it has been a while since you finished your kayak. How's the colour holding up? I was thinking about using fabric dye on my deck but came across a web page of a guy saying that fabric dye fades too quickly on wood but he wasn't using it for kayaks. Is the colour protected by the epoxy and UV varnish? Should I just spend the extra money and buy aniline dye specifically for wood?

The fabric dye faded in one season.

In all honesty, Darren's right - the boat is not pink. I once had a (sort of) purple hat that faded to pink, so that was my thought when I posted that.

The purple was really nice and vibrant when the boat was new. I'd say the fading added more of a grey-ish tinge - more of a weathered look I guess. Not quite what I would have expected... but it fared better than my hat.

OK if I drop it off tomorrow evening?

    instead of 'da pink',
    it's actually 'da red',

but a few letters got mixed up.

    (heh heh, sorry)
