Canadian Tire to close Atmosphere Stores

Canadian Tire will close 17 Atmosphere stores, including some in B.C.

Of the 17 "uncompetitive" Atmosphere stores set to close, 14 will be relocated to occupy space inside existing SportChek locations. Read on.

Another chain bites the dust. 17 stores to close and the remaining to be amalgamated into existing Sport Check stores, which basically means most likely a major downgrade.
Canadian Tire also just recently got rid of Helly Hanson. Although Atmosphere wasn’t a huge outdoor gear player they still provided quality brand names and variety for hiking, camping and a few other outdoor activities in some areas. Plus providing competition to help keep prices inline. The options for outdoor gear just keep diminishing.
