Cold Water

    not about cold water but just damp cold air and blood ... a friend and I took our canoes out for a winters paddle one afternoon temps around 30 F almost no wind , we went out for maybe 90 mins on the water not wearing any immersion gear .. this was around 1984 or so . At one point I noticed my legs were not exactly numb but not warm so when we got back to the beach I got out and walked back to the vehicle after maybe 50 yards the cold blood from my legs hit my heart and it was a shock of sorts enough to scare me a bit to stop me in my tracks .
