I'm curious about an older (unused) paddle I bought.
    Werner:
Blue fiberglass shaft with button adjust - two holes - 0 and 30 degree feather
White fiberglass blades with reinforcement (thicker layup) for about 10 cm at tips
Overall length is about 215 cm
Blade length overall - to junction with shaft- is 47 cm
Blade width (max) is about 18.5 cm
    Strong dihedral blade

Pretty big blades so I'm thinking whitewater? or??

Whitewater aren't normally 2 piece. Normally 1 piece (for strength), or 4 piece (to be used as a spare). Plus at 215, that would be a long whitewater (they rarely are above 200).

Both places I work for have paddles like that, but I don't know the model.

    Thanks, Peter.

I just checked my email and (already) had an answer from Werner.

Best guess from Werner is Kauai.
    Blade dimensions match.

I guess in the 'olden days' they didn't silkscreen the model name on the blade.

Nice thing about the old style button ferrule is that it's pretty easy to shorten the paddle a bit if I want.

Looks to me like an early Kauai. When did they quit selling the blue shafts? That might date it.

That's the 2001 Werner catalog that provided the pics of the Kauai, and the FG paddle seems to have the blue shaft.

The paddle I bought is absolutely 'mint', so a good find!
