OH boy! I finally got a pic for this forum!

This little outhouse was built on Refuge island (On the North coast of Graham.) This island is aptly named for we were stormed out and spent two nights here while enjoying storm force winds. :!: It was daytime when I took the pic believe it or not -was just very gloomy with the storm. There was no door. The outhouse was windy and gave new meaning to the word blow drying fersure.

Luckily the Masset band had built a wonderful cabin on this spot for us, and others, to enjoy.

*I know there have been requests for a trip report. I will get to that once I get out of my boat! Just grabbin' the last bits of summer.

It's very important that a paddler be self-sufficient in every way, including TP.

Someone has given the familiar green 'out' a makeover.

Tent over PVC pipe. The green outie is built onto a heli portable honey pot of shiny aluminium.

Not sure if the tent is to give privacy or if it is to keep the rain from overflowing the honey pot should someone forget to close the lid.

The snow has collapsed previous outhouses at this site.

I think some have confused this thread with the "Leave No Trace" discussion. This is the more light-hearted "Left A Trace" discussion. There's a Leave No Trace discussion somewhere on the site, or another can be started if you like. Not trying to be picky here, but all of this serious poop discussion really changes the focus of this one.

Back to Left a trace (I'm certain that DarrenM will be pleased):

Viner Sound Forestry Campsite, in the Broughton Archipelago -- a nice out of the way spot:

[Admin edit: moved the non-light-hearted posts to a new thread titled "Leave No Trace Toiletry Etiquette".]

Oh, I love the photo of the one on Gilbert Island Daren! Looks like our old treehouses when we were kids! LOL

Here is I think the prettiest one in this thread...it is up above the beach at Grandma's Bay on Salt Spring Island. It may be private, so I didn't actually LEAVE a trace.
