Recently decided to get back into kayaking after about 30 years away from the water. Picked up a hot rod 'yak, and after putting about 50 nervous miles on the Rapier, traded it for something a little more versatile. This new boat, a Current Designs model is fantastic--stable, nimble and ultra comfy! Dropped her in the drink at Alki a couple weeks ago for a quick lap of the bay, dodging ferries, spotting a pair of porpoises and generally having a blast. The very next weekend, a paddling pal of mine from the office joined me for a repeat of the same tour. Some pix:

goodbye Rapier, ol' gal...it was fun but scary...

I plan to, but due to various responsibilities, it's a long-term plan. I'm in year 4 of a 10 year plan. I'll get there eventually!
