    Hi all,

I moved here a week ago from mid west USA. I'm looking for a place to do short trips or practice rolls, etc...just to maintain my skills and get familiar with the salt water. I live in Delta / Surrey right now. I've been to deep cove and white rock just to look. Is there some place close and easy to put in / take out and play around... fresh water would be good too maybe better for practice sake? How about the tides?

    Thanks,
    Tian

Welcome to the site! Lots of great paddling around here, and lots of information on this site. If you haven't already done so, check out the "Paddling Locations" section (http://www.westcoastpaddler.com/html/locations.htm) and even the "Where Did You Paddle?" posts for ideas.

For warm, fresh water paddling check out Buntzen Lake (http://www.westcoastpaddler.com/gallery ... um=1&pos=0). Busy in summer, but an easy entry beach and sheltered water. If you don't want an audience, you can paddle away from the crowds and find a quiet spot easily enough. Small lake, so you can easily circumnavigate it and not get tired and/or lost.

    Happy paddling! :big_thumb
