If I know Daren he'll find a way to make it burn just as hot but without the roar.

it's not a particularly hot burner at 4700 BTU, but it is quite possibley the prettiest stove ever made.

i already have three whitegas stoves, two propane, and a large pile of wood burners. as well as a room full of alcohol stoves. i want the Svea as part of my collection.

    not at all, heathen!

i'm working on a collection of small stoves and the Svea 123R is a common and well known stardard in backpacking circles.

alcohol will always be my fuel of choice. for cooking, too!

Owned a Svea 123R for maybe 20 years. Worked flawlessly, and was a very economical, lightweight backpacking stove.

Daren, my ex- inherited the custom windscreen and pot support the 123R fits into. Want me to see if she is willing to sell it? I think she uses something else these days and can not use the windscreen/pot support any more.

wish i could read German. what type of fuel does it burn?

the Svea 123 has been around for a very long time. burns white gas (coleman fuel). the newer ones will also burn unleaded auto fuel.

It burns white gas. This stove is (as far as I know) based on an old WW2 stove and was produced without any changes since then.
