UCO Firebowl

    I've been using one of these lately and I have to say I'm really impressed. We wind up using a fraction of the wood of a regular campfire, firewood runs are basically gathering up driftwood scrap off the beach, and most impressively, no fire scar on the landscape!

    Like the saying goes, "build small fire, sit close"!

    a DIY option is to use a vegetable steamer basket.

    I think that's essentially what this thing is, minus all the little holes. It almost looks exactly like this:

    I went looking for a steamer bowl but all that I found were more expensive for the firebowl (which is only $10 at Army & Navy).

    And let's not forget your own cool twig burning stove Daren. All of these make good alternatives to the big campfire.
