We've had a number of people ask us about a fall campout (to compliment the Spring Campout).

Anyone interested in a campout at Indian Arm (Granite Falls) in late September or early October?

    I'm absolutely, positively a maybe! :D

I can't take any days off work (I'm out of vacation days ALREADY  ), so I'm hoping it would be a weekend overnighter.

Or you could just paddle there - there's plenty of water between here and there!

What a great idea! I'm highly interested. Daniel, I'm sure I can fit a second kayak on my roof rack! Let's talk about when it gets closer to the date.

I think I'm booked for Oct 25-26 but it may be the weekend previous to that. I'll try to make it any other weekend though...

I'd like to do it. Does this one involve a ferry ride coming from the mainland? Could someone put an approximate location and description? Would we be driving to the camp spot or putting in and paddling?

This means I'd best get going on my birth certs and passport, huh? Wonder if I can talk Pam into going.

We also got some fine paddling weather Kathy! As long as Dan brings the porta-cabin a little snow is nothing! Dan would you be willing to bring it please?

That's a really nice offer my friend! I'll keep in touch. You still heading out for a weekend getaway in the islands BTW?

Hope everyone can make it, was a lot of fun this spring meeting everyone that I could in such a short time. Maybe this time I'll get a chance to talk to all those I rudely missed last time :?

You'd better ask your parents for permission before committing.

Craig, no ferries necessary from the lower mainland. We'll paddle to the campsite from Deep Cove (about a half hour from downtown Vancouver) -- it's about a 17 km (10.5 miles) paddle -- but it's a very easy paddle -- no currents to worry about and it's a very sheltered area. The link that kelly t posted gives a good overview of the area. The campsite is a good size so there shouldn't be a problem accomodating a large group of people, especially that time of year (and especially if it's snowing   ).

Elmo, no problem -- I'll bring the Pavillion tarp.

Just for everyone's information, there are no picnic tables at Granite Falls so if you have folding chairs, it would be good to bring them.

I guess the only thing to do is to determine a date. I'm good for pretty much anytime except the weekend of October 4th.
