We spent time in the Surge Narrows area, the dogleg/Goepel Passage, Octopus Islands, Hole In The Wall & Francisco Island. It's a gorgeous area. Discovery Islands Lodge is a fantastic place - a lodge that is run by kayakers, for kayakers. You guys out there have an incredible resource in places like that and I hope you appreciate it.

Don't forget the dangerous currents, huge tides, killer whirlpools, tug & barge traffic, rain & more rain, big winds, all the beaches are rocky, no campspots, no pubs, no parking, power boats zooming thru the play spots, dangerous kelp, fish farms, more fish farms, clearcuts, yachties everywhere, etc. So y'all should just go to the Broken Group

I'm with Nootka. It's awful up here. Don't come, anyone.

Glad Doug was an able coach. I hear consistently good things about his CVK courses.

Grandma's Doc  (your blog refers...)

You guys are going to have to try harder to keep the rest of us away. Better tell your tourism folks to re-think their slogan.

Comoxpaddler, I had to laugh when I got back to Grandma's place after the course. I had commented to her that one of the instructors had paddled around Vancouver Island. Her response was something like "well, maybe he was off paddling with my doctor. He's never around, always off kayaking!" She seems to be of the opinion that you should stay home more and take full-time care of your patients. ;) However, I'm pretty sure she is happiest having something minor to complain about.

Cheers,
Bryan
