Cam,
I went in and scored a pair, for $22.00 can' go wrong...Only slight prob may be plastic knob nuts to tighten the rack to the cross bar, not even a metal insert in them... It does seem Swiss Miss... err.. Swiss Cargo is not a total no name. They do go on and off easy, come with all straps and gizmos and ropes.
I don't think I can return them anyway, but again, for $22, a steal for sure, even if I only got 3-4 seasons, as the foam pads we now use are what? $20 a pair?
Anyway, thanks for the tip. :big_thumb
Did snoop on line, did not find any negatives...lots for sale at $120.00 a pair though, even in US.

Hum
I was sure that they had a metal insert in the knobs. As I cranked them down multiple times on 4-5 trips now and they have worked flawless
New knobs are pretty cheap from home depot etc

‘J’ style kayak carrier offers more room on cross bars for other cargo.

Simple to use, just load kayak and secure with tie downs.

Fits virtually all brands of cross bars.

Quick fit hardware for easy

installation and removal.

Heavy duty tie down straps (2) with rustproof buckles and tie down cords

(2) with bumper hooks.

No tools required, installs in minutes.

Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Cross bars not included.

the knobs do have nuts inside them, just confirmed it..
On a side note these J stackers are almost carbon copies of the sportrack kits.
Same rope, straps etc..
Probley comes from the same factory in china or where ever...

Surplus Sam seems to be a decent place, the one on Byrne Road in burnaby anyway.
She was nice enuf to look thru the 2 I got to make sure it was all there, a steal for $22.00 a pair, includes straps, decent quality, bow and stern lines, also decent, and a snappy blue color!
Off to Sechelt to try em out, but can't reserve for over 7ft anymore for our preferred sailing, so back to foam blocks, Crap
They need to build taller ferries

Well if you use a credit card you are protected no matter what. My only issue would be the shipping cost. As they do come in some rather large boxes.
What area puddle did you want them shipped ?

Ordered two sets today. Shipping is about $24 to Harrison Mills (north of Chilliwack). I thought it was reasonable considering a trip to Vancouver would cost me at least that much in fuel and not to mention waste a day when I would rather be out on the water paddling!

Did anyone by any chance by an extra of these that they have decided they don't need? There are no more and I'd love to get my hands on a carrier that is student budget friendly! :)
