Thanks Natasha. I have not heard of this brand until your post. One review has it 2nd to a Stanley brand, but the weight and sleekness of the Zojirrushi makes it a better choice for kayaking. So far at the top of my list. Thanks!I have a zojirushi travel mug that keeps everything way too hot to drink for hours. The lid has a locking mechanism which is very secure. Even though it is a travel mug I don't hesitate to throw it in a bag at any orientation.
I see this brand also has a thermos
Cyclegranny.... not off topic at all..in fact a great link to dehydrating which will be very helpful for me. My food dehydration talents are lacking and just on a quick read of that link it has some very useful tips that will take my dehydrated meals from “just eat it”” to “Any more?”. Thanks so much.Lila
A little off topic.
Backpacking chef recommends the 24oz Thermos food jar. The wide mouth will loose heat quicker than the narrow mouth variety but is better for meals than hot drinks

I didn't think of that...thanks!Get silver if you can. Black gets lost on the ground in the dark.
