If there is imporat=nt access news, I'd like to hear that too so please post here!

TIA and happy paddles

Spyhop = Commercial base camp
Little Kaikash = Commercial base camp
Adventure beach = don't bother, no access above high tide.
Boat Bay =closed for camping under conservancy rules.
Little Kaikash North = good lunch beach - no access above high tide line.
Big Bay Point = Commercial base camp.

Thanks - some new info here so please pass along more, if available . It is not so easy to determine which sites are leased commercial sites and whether these leases allow for / make specific provision for independent paddle tourers. Keeping good and current info is part of our goal. - making it available to the public too.

Here is an update.
Should you be paddling to any of these sites, please let me know and I will exchange some of my info for some of yours and a few photos!

Jervis Inlet - mostly complete thanks to Reed C (aka Superman)!

Johnstone Strait - some useful info gathered but it would be useful to know tenant of each commercial site if that is feasible. Do the lease terms allow for exclusive use or may tourers visit en route? Does this vary by site? We hear different versions...

Believed to have a commercial tenant
south shore
Schmidt Creek
First Beach
Cobble Beach
Spy Hop Beach
Little Kaikash

Boat Bay east
Boat Bay/ Warden Camp (heard that plan is for exclusive tenancy here but not in place 2014)
Pig Ranch south Point (heard that plan is for non-exclusive tenancy here but not in place 2014)

Sophia Islands east

Believed to be open for pulbic use and not availalbe for commercial tenancy

Hey Nick,

Twice I have written up on a location from last years paddle and inserted several photos.
Each time, after I have finished, I click on Preview and all the work disappears.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi again Nick,

I was just looking at the BCMT forum and noticed that there have been virtually no postings about new locations in the past year.

Am I reading this wrong or is this effort not happening anymore?

I am sure that a lot of people have paddled in 2014 so I am wondering where their photos and narratives are.

I found it very difficult to post my photos and the stories about them.

I am wondering if BCMT's software is outdated and if the effort is left to the photographer as opposed to the people who want to see info about the sites.

When I send my photos to my friends, I don't have to resize them. The software does that for me as appropriate.
I don't have a problem with re-sizing my photos in Photo Shop but I am wondering how many paddlers who take photos, have photo software that can re-size them conveniently, if at all, or who would bother. Not many I think.

There are also other various problems with posting on WCMT forum.

It would work better if there were no obstacles at all. Don't you think?

I like the idea of collecting the info on the west coast sites for all to use but I wonder why this doesn't seem to be happening.

I see you posting on other forums that you're still having trouble. So, just contact nick directly at the email he has shown at the bottom of each of his posts:
