Had an amazing kayaking day-trip at Diablo Lake early July (before the current fire started with a lightning strike July 29th). I started at the Colonial Creek Boat Launch, paddled out to Thunder Point and explored the campground there, then around the beautiful islands at the center of the lake, with a rest stop / swim / lunch on a little island near the dam. On return, explored Buster Brown and Hidden Cove campgrounds, scouting for a future kayak camping trip. Truly incredible kayaking destination if you haven't yet been. World class mountain lake kayaking with day trip and overnight options.
