i) None observed.
ii) Kanish Bay is said to be difficult in strong North West conditions.
b. Landing (kayak) easy
c. Beach Gradient: 6-10%
d. Beach Substrate: Boat launch constructed of crushed gravel
e. Launch site only. No camping. Outhouses. Picnic tables. Dock.
f. Estimated Level of Use: light
g. Drinking Water Sources: None
h. Aspect: North West
i. Site Accessibility: Sea and Road
j. Estimated Distance to Nearest Alternate Site: Ashlar Creek is the closest (known by me) campsite.
k. Site Suitable for canoe or kayak. The launch is suitable for small craft.
l. Relative Importance: This is a good launch site to access Discovery Passage from Kanish Bay
m. Notes:
i) There is a fee to use the launch facility.
ii) Parking is in a parking lot. I didn't check about long-term parking.
iii) Follow Granite Bay Road. Driving time is about 40 minutes from Quathaski Ferry Terminal.
iv) Granite Bay Road is gravel.
v) No services (gas, grocery, etc) were observed at Granite Bay.
vi) There is a hiking trail to Small Inlet and Waiatt Bay via Newton Lake.
