Howard Islet is in Lewis Passage just off the NE end of Fin Island. There is a clamshell beach on the NW side of the Islet (53 16.4' N, 129 18.7' E, from SPOT GPS on beach). We camped on the beach. There are remains of an old cabin in a large clearing in the interior of the islet, it is a bit of a mess. There is a dilapidated outhouse. No fresh water. Lots of Humpback Whales in the area and good fishing, we caught a salmon. Also see page 227 of Wild Coast 2.
