So a good reminder to all about caveat emptor. Safest to do in-person transactions where you can check out the goods before handing over your money. (In a lot of places, police allow/encourage buyers and sellers to meet in the cop shop parking lot to reduce the odds of skullduggery.)

Remote transactions, especially those involving non-reversable and/or untraceable methods of payment, are high risk.

Also remember, anyone can nip images of any product from anywhere on the web to create an ad for a desirable product. A Google reverse image search may be your friend.

Digging deeper I set my FB marketplace location to Los Angeles, CA with a 500km search radius.

Feathercraft K1 in Los Angeles CA

I found many ads for this same kayak. Photos at very low resolution.
I can see that FB Marketplace seller Greta Deals has been a member since 2022.
This seller has 3 FB friends.
If I were in the market for a K1 and lived nearby, it is unlikely that I would check this out.
Too many red flags for me. But draw your own conclusions.

To Greta: If this ad is legit, take some better/higher resolution photos with todays copy of the LA Times in the photos. Then update your ads with them. Then we can all laugh and say what a bunch of suspicious old paddlers we were.
