Two days? It looks like two campfires there. Wouldn't that make it three days?

Did you paddle all the way to the top of the lake? I didn't notice any pictures of the north end of the lake.

I love Pitt Lake. It's a beautiful place.
 
Kick ass. Looks like the waterfalls have way more flow and you probably got there at much higher tide than when i was there last year,judging by For Sail (the name of that sunken sailboat)

Yeah, I guess it would make three days/two nights.
I didn't go very far up the creeks feeding into Pitt's north end, maybe a couple hundred meters, but yes, I did. (paddle to top of lake)

I know, Pitt's great --- especially if you can avoid the crowds on the southern ends in mid season.

The biting insects were almost nonexistent --- almost worryingly so. Why would there be zero mosquitos right now?

If you mean, "Do I have a Mokai-type motorized kayak?" No. I have a Necky Alsek, "fat fourteen'er", poly-hulled, single place, arm driven kayak that I'm building a sail rig for.

I like the Mokai idea though, having never see the concept b4. I was thinking about an electric drive with solar cell-recharging of lead-acid batteries, but thia mokai concept seems a good way to go especially in conjunction with a sailing rig, a paddle, and of course the engine.
"Sail when you can, paddle when you like, and motor when you need to ..." --- a truly awesome idea. I'll be following this one closely now. Thanks for mentioning it.
 
Always wanted to go up Pitt lake. thanks for the photos. Only been to raven creek . Maybe I'll get to the end this year. Jill
 
Why would there be zero mosquitos right now?

I noticed that paddling at Harrison that we get these early weeks nearly mosquito free each year. Not sure why, possibly something to do with the runoff, cold water rising rapidly, or flushing stagnant rearing pools? Maybe the fish are doing a hungrier in these conditions??? Don't know, but these first few weeks are always a bug free treat...
