I am planing a trip to Prevost from Salt Spring Island on the weekend of the 27th , weather permitting. If anyone is interested in coming alone please let me know.

Tenatively and open for discussion,

Leave Friday evening from Salt Spring and cross to the north end Prevost island. The tides are with us.

Camp in James Bay campground Friday night.

Circumnavigate the island on Saturday.

Overnight again. Return to Saltspring on Sunday afternoon.

Darn! I would really like to do that trip but unfortunately (depending upon how you look at it), I've already made plans to be at the Kayak Builders Meet at the Beach on the 29th.

Maybe next time.

Well I reviewed your latest trip from Mayne to James Bay and it seems you have already explored alot of this area and captured some great shots with the camera. So much to do in life and so little time.

Well I am sure you will enjoy the boat builders event. I am thinking about a kit for a wooden boat. I saw two people paddling wooden kayaks on the Gorge in Victoria last week. The boats were not Pygmy kits but I almost offered to buy one from him they looked so cool. Apparently they were also made from kits but the shape appeared more difficult to make.

I asked for the name but my memory has failed me and I now looking through the mass of internet info on kit boats hoping to find something close.

I'm sure I will. I know a lot of the people who will be there and I've attended 2 of the past 3 years. I'm sure that this year will not disappoint. I'm always up for talking about boat building.

You might want to try the Boat Building area of our Paddling Links section (from the menu on the left), there are several kit manufacturers listed there.
