Gravel beach behind small islet on east side of Meyers Passage 2 nm south of Split Head.

N 52 38.94, W 128 33.98' (from chart 3943, WGS 84 datum, cross checks with john Kimantas's Wild Coast 2 guide, page 199)

Cleared site in forest above beach sufficient for two small tents. Additional space available on the beach. Max tide when we camped there (2009.07.05) was 4.5 m at Bella Bella and was not an issue.

Do not recall any nearby streams but neither did we look (a stream is shown nearby on the chart).

I had stopped at this site during a Spring Tide in 2007 and made a brief visit while passing by it in July. I never looked too closely but Dave nosed around and neither of us saw the cleared tent sites in the woods. Good to know that they are there.

This is a site that Kayak Bill had marked on his charts as a "bivouac". His bivi sites often lacked clearings and were only useable at certain tides which probably effected how closely we looked for a clearing.
