Moving water incident in SF Bay

A couple of friends of mine went out for a new year's day tour of SF Bay and had a strainer type incident that they wrote up about:

I think Drew is a BCU 3 star paddler. Maybe even a 4 star. Strong combat roll.

Kim is an ACA Lv 5 instructor (maybe a Lv 4 now, as I think when he last went to do his instructor update, they may not have have Lv 5 conditions, so he wasn't able to update). He is also a BCU 5 star paddler.

Thanks for sharing this! As Kim says, this is not a situation I would typically encounter on my normal paddles and I probably wouldn't be aware of it until it was too late either.. Glad everyone made it out ok!

Oh, Kim does have white water experience. Last summer, he went down the Grand Canyon in a P&H Hammer. I Don't think Drew has as much white water experience.
