Point Higgins is a recreation area that is well used by the locals from Ketchikan. Nearby roadways allow easy access to the site ensuring visitors during daylight hours. A talk with some of the locals informed me that the area is being sought by developers for a housing subdivision. If this happens future access to the site will be unlikely. For now the site makes a great place to camp just 12 miles north of Ketchikan Alaska. Beach access at all tide levels is easy and there are plenty of places to camp up in the trees. Water is available from a flowing stream.
