Red Sand Beach in Smith Sound is located three days paddle from Port Hardy on the BC mainland north of Cape Caution on Queen Charlotte Sound. I saw lots of Humpback Whales in this area.

There was a long dry spell this summer so water sources were alway's on our minds. We did not fill up here, high tide would reach this pond and did not need the water bad enough to look for the trickle upstream.

There were maybe 4-5 tent sites upland along the beach and lot's of room to carve out more.
