Rescue Bay on Susan Island has a small campsite up in the trees above a very small gravel beach that is submerged at high tide. There are no other campsites in the area that I could see. Someone has cleared a small level area of undergrowth that is big enough for one tent. Rescue Bay is two day's paddle from Shearwater and one day from Klemtu.

I camped at Rescue Bay twice this summer (July 23 and 27). The high tide level at Bella Bella was 5.0 m and 4.5 m on these dates. There is room for several tents (we had four). My GPS coordinates concur with those listed above and in the Wild Coast Guide (page 185).

Fresh water is available from a stream at the very south end of the Bay (200 m from the campsite).

Campsite at Rescue Bay, on the right there is a clearing in the trees that is big enough for two small tents.

Rescue Bay is just outside Jackson Narrows Marine Park, which has some very impressive intertidal life.
