Paddler
We went to Deception Pass for training for eddyline crossing this weekend.
What a great place! I fell in love with this place all over again.
Wind was calm in the morning, but the swell and wind in Juan De Fuca created 3-4 feet standing wave terrain right down stream off the bridge.
We practiced peelout right under the bridge and go back to a cove to take a rest and wait for my turn to come. Between the spot to cross the edyyline and the cove, there these standing waves!! And those experienced guys were enjoying the ride, I was not allowed to ride those waves, but my boat just took me to those waves, ( head into the waves, though...). I really really wanted ride the wave, but I was told that I have to be OK at the beach to do that:evil:. Even so, it was a lot of fun to paddle in the waves like that.
I tried rolling in the 5knots, and made it Actually I felt it easier to do it in the current.
Back at Bowman Bay, found some surf was going 8). Just small enough for me to practice some surfing and bracing. I went over there and was soooo glad I had my helmet on.
I guess I played like no tomorrow, next morning, my whole body was achy and my throat was sore from screaming too much, I had to bail out
