Looking for a bigger volume boat for my partner... or potentially myself and then they can buy my boat!

Something along the lines of a Romany Excel, or Sterling Reflection/Grand Illusion!

Any Canadians have something?

If you are willing to consider a rudder boat....
You might want to think about a Telkwa - highly regarded by many and perhaps more common than the boats you mention.
Available in 3 sizes, too....all capable of carrying bear barrels!

Thanks for the insight John!
Sticking to rudder boats sitting in the more playful category for now!

Do you want a bigger boat because you want more volume for tripping, or are you looking for a boat to fit a larger paddler?

A boat for surf and play (e.g. Reflection), or a boat to cover distance efficiently (not Reflection!) ?

What are you and your partner paddling now?

Looking for fit, not for tripping.

I'm paddling an Excel already, the Reflection would be my option and she would inherit my boat.

Not particularly concerned with hull speed, just something fun and manoeuvrable!

This will be her first boat, she's paddled mine a decent amount though!

Thanks guys!

I have the impex assateague kayak and I am 6' 2" 240#. Seda boats also have a line for bigger volume

Try a seaward guide. Not quite as nimble as a reflection, but still quit good. Comes in a regular and a HV version. Build quality is excellent and price is way better than a sterling, especially if you are trading US for Canadian dollars.
